PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment

From £199

What is it?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a concentrated amount of your own platelets to help heal injuries. Its is a regenerative treatment primarily used for skin rejuvenation. It utilizes a patient’s own platelets and growth factors to stimulate natural healing and collagen production, helping to improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity. PRP is effective for reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars, and promoting overall skin health and radiance.

Procedure

Here's how it works:

  • Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm.

Blood is drawn from the arm
  • Centrifuging: The blood is spun in a centrifuge, separating the platelets from other components. The result is a concentrated solution of platelets, growth factors, and proteins.

The blood sample is centrifuged to separate the platet-rich plasma

  • Injection: This concentrated PRP is then injected into specific areas, such as the face (for skin rejuvenation), to stimulate natural healing, collagen production, and tissue repair.

The procedure is minimally invasive and carries minimal risk, with little to no downtime required afterward.

Product administered

On average, about 10-20 mL of blood is drawn from the patient, which is then processed to extract the platelet-rich plasma. After processing, typically 1-3 mL of PRP is injected per treatment area, but this can vary depending on the procedure and the area being treated.

Following a full course of treatment (3 sessions), the results of PRP therapy can last up to 18 months, with noticeable improvements appearing about two to three weeks after treatment. However, this varies from person to person, depending on skin type and the specific concerns being treated.
