A Pancreas Panel measures the quantity of pancreatic enzymes present in the blood to detect pancreatitis and other pancreatic disorders.
Biomarkers:
Amylase is an enzyme that breaks down carbohydrates, particularly starch. It is produced in the pancreas and salivary glands.
Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fats. It is produced in the pancreas and small intestine.
