BCG Scar Check

£29

What is a BCG Scar Check?

A BCG scar check is a brief examination to confirm whether you have a scar consistent with a previous BCG vaccination against tuberculosis (TB).

This can be used as supporting evidence when you are asked to show proof of BCG but do not have vaccination records.

Who might need this?

You may need BCG scar confirmation for: work in healthcare or social care, university or school requirements, TB clinic referrals, or overseas travel and visa medicals.

It is especially helpful if you grew up outside the UK, cannot access your childhood records, or are unsure if you ever received BCG.

After your assessment

Where a typical BCG scar is seen, you will be provided with a signed BCG Scar Declaration confirming the presence and location of a scar consistent with previous BCG vaccination.

This document is suitable to show to occupational health, education providers, or other services that request evidence of BCG.

Note

A visible scar is good evidence of prior BCG, but some vaccinated people may not have a clear or lasting scar. If further BCG vaccination is needed, this can be arranged separately and is not included in this BCG scar-check appointment.

Any cancellation, rescheduling, or missed appointment within 48 hours of the scheduled time will result in the loss of the paid amount.
