Rosacea & Facial Redness

From £159

What is it?

Rosacea and facial redness are common skin concerns that cause persistent redness, flushing, and visible blood vessels on the face. For some people, redness comes and goes, while for others it can become more constant over time.

Triggers can vary and may include heat, sun exposure, stress, or changes in temperature. While rosacea cannot be cured, treatments can help reduce visible redness and calm the appearance of the skin.

Our Technology: The Nordlys™ System

At Epicare Health, rosacea and facial redness treatments are performed using the Candela Nordlys™ system, which delivers controlled light energy to help reduce redness and improve overall skin balance over time.

The system uses IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) with carefully selected wavelengths designed to target visible redness and superficial blood vessels, while built-in safety features help protect the surrounding skin. Treatment settings are adjusted based on individual skin type and sensitivity.

Who is This Treatment Suitable For?

This treatment may be suitable for individuals experiencing facial redness, flushing, or rosacea-related redness, particularly where visible blood vessels are present.

As rosacea varies greatly from person to person, a consultation is always carried out first. This allows your practitioner to assess your skin and advise whether IPL treatment is appropriate for you and how it may fit into your overall skin management plan.

The Treatment Process: What to Expect

  1. Consultation & Assessment: Your treatment begins with a consultation to assess your skin, redness pattern, and overall suitability for IPL treatment. This helps ensure the settings are tailored safely to your skin, and a patch test may be carried out where appropriate.

  2. Preparation: Before treatment, your practitioner will ensure the skin is ready for laser or light-based treatment. This step is designed to support both safety and comfort on the area being treated.

  3. During Treatment: As the applicator passes over the skin, you may feel brief warmth or a light snapping sensation. Sensations vary between individuals, but treatment is generally well tolerated.

  4. After Treatment: Temporary redness or warmth is common and usually settles within a short time. There is no significant downtime, and aftercare advice will be provided to help support your skin.

How does it work?

IPL treatment works by delivering gentle pulses of light to the skin, which are absorbed by the blood within superficial vessels that contribute to redness.

By targeting these vessels, the treatment can help reduce the appearance of redness over time. Settings are selected carefully to ensure the approach remains controlled and appropriate for sensitive skin.

Expected Results & Timeline

Some people notice a reduction in facial redness after their first treatment. However, results develop gradually as the skin responds over time.

For most patients, the best results are seen after completing a course of treatments, with sessions spaced several weeks apart. The number of sessions needed varies depending on the severity of redness and how the skin responds, but this will all be discussed during your consultation.

Note

This service is exclusively for individuals aged 18 and over.

During booking, only a £30 deposit is required for the initial consultation, and patch test where applicable, which will be deducted from the total treatment cost. The remaining payment will be collected at a later stage.
