Scars & Stretch Marks

From £89

What is it?

Scars and stretch marks develop when the skin is damaged or stretched beyond its normal limits, affecting its structure and texture. This can happen for many reasons, including acne, surgery, injury, pregnancy, weight changes, or growth spurts.

Over time, scars and stretch marks may fade slightly on their own, but changes in texture or unevenness often remain. While they are completely harmless, many people seek treatment to help improve how smooth and even their skin looks.

Our Technology: The Nordlys™ System

At Epicare Health, treatments for wrinkles, fine lines, and skin texture are carried out using the Candela Nordlys™ system, which includes non-ablative fractional laser technology designed to support skin resurfacing and renewal.

This technology works beneath the surface of the skin to encourage natural skin repair while leaving the top layer intact. Treatments are carefully adjusted based on the area being treated and individual skin characteristics to ensure a controlled and tailored approach.

Who is This Treatment Suitable For?

This treatment may be suitable for individuals looking to improve the appearance of acne scars, surgical or traumatic scars, and striae (stretch marks).

Because scars and stretch marks vary in depth, age, and location, a consultation is always carried out first. This allows us to assess your skin properly and advise whether treatment is appropriate for you, as well as what level of improvement you can expect.

The Treatment Process: What to Expect

  1. Consultation & Assessment: Your treatment begins with a consultation to assess your skin, the type of scarring or stretch marks present, and your suitability for treatment. This allows us to tailor the approach safely to your skin.

  2. Preparation: Before treatment, your practitioner will ensure the skin is ready for laser or light-based treatment. This step is designed to support both safety and comfort on the area being treated.

  3. During Treatment: As the laser is applied, you may feel warmth or a prickling sensation. Sensations vary depending on the area treated and individual sensitivity, but treatment is generally well tolerated.

  4. After Treatment: You may experience redness, warmth, or mild swelling in the treated area. These effects usually settle over a short period. Aftercare advice will be provided to help support healing and optimise results.

How does it work?

This treatment works by gently stimulating the skin’s natural repair process. The laser creates controlled micro-treatment areas beneath the surface of the skin, encouraging the skin to renew itself over time.

As the skin gradually heals, texture can improve and areas may feel smoother and more even. Treatment focuses on improving skin texture and overall appearance, with gradual changes over time.

Expected Results & Timeline

Some people begin to notice early changes in skin texture as the skin starts to heal following treatment. Improvements continue to develop gradually as the skin renews itself over time.

For most people, the best results are seen after completing a course of treatments, with sessions spaced several weeks apart. The number of treatments needed varies depending on the type, age, and depth of the scars or stretch marks, but this will all be discussed during your consultation.

Note

This service is exclusively for individuals aged 18 and over.

During booking, only a £30 deposit is required for the initial consultation, and patch test where applicable, which will be deducted from the total treatment cost. The remaining payment will be collected at a later stage.
