Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide
Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (ACCP) is a type of antibody that is often associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Citrullination is a post-translational modification process that converts arginine residues into citrulline. When the immune system becomes confused, it can mistakenly target these citrullinated proteins, leading to the production of ACCP antibodies.
