Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a hormone made from testosterone and plays an important role in male development, hair growth and prostate health.

A DHT blood test may help investigate concerns such as male pattern hair loss, prostate conditions, excessive hair growth or hormone imbalances. In women, higher DHT levels may sometimes be linked with PCOS or hirsutism.
