PLAC Test (LP-PLA2)
This is a blood test used to assess the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). It measures the levels of lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), an enzyme associated with inflammation in the arteries. Elevated Lp-PLA2 levels indicate increased inflammation and a higher risk of developing atherosclerosis and subsequent CVD events. The PLAC Test helps identify individuals who may benefit from targeted interventions to reduce their cardiovascular risk and guides treatment decisions for improved cardiovascular health.
